Philosophy

Little Bunnies’ teaching philosophy is called “Learning Through Play,” a mix of Montessori, Reggio Emilia and other educational approaches. Learning Through Play emphasizes the competence of the child, self-directed child-activity, and the positive role of exploration, play and discovery in the cognitive and social development of children. Our pedagogy pays particular attention to environmental awareness and our curriculum incorporates daily activities like circle time, music and movement, literacy lessons, art activities and extensive outdoor exploration.

We strive to offer a stimulating learning environment that provides children with a sense of comfort, belonging, and wellbeing, while at the same time offering plenty of opportunity for active learning. We encourage children to pursue their natural curiosities and explore their interests and inclinations. We believe that each child is a unique individual with a unique way of learning, interacting, exploring and connecting with his/her surroundings. To capture each child’s unique approach, we use observation and documentation in both text and media formats. Perhaps most importantly, we value open communication and partnership with parents and respect their opinions and feedback.

At Little Bunnies parents, children and educators are treated as collaborators in the developmental process of the child. We are committed to refreshing our knowledge and expanding our understanding of children by keeping ourselves up-to-date with the latest research and practices in the Early Childhood Education field.
